What is the difference between a prosthodontist and a dentist who does prosthetics?
A prosthodontist is a specialist who has had specific training beyond dental school. Dr. Horblitt has gone to school for years post-dental school and is trained in the specifics of implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and partials.
A dentist who does prosthetics is a general dentist who has not attended a specific or credentialing program.
What are general prothetics?
General prosthetics are used to replace missing or damaged teeth. Loss of teeth through periodontal disease, cancer, genetics, or dental trauma can leave you with serious oral health issues—not to mention a loss of self-confidence. We can replace your teeth with several kinds of general prosthetics, including crown and bridges, fillings, dentures and partials, and dental implants.
What if I need a full-mouth reconstruction?
Then Dr. Horblitt and his expert team can fulfill all your prosthodontic needs, and give you back a beautiful, healthy smile! If you’ve experienced trauma or disease that have damaged your gums and contributed to tooth loss, then a full-mouth reconstruction can benefit you. This type of restoration usually involves several kinds of procedures such as root canals, periodontal therapy, porcelain crowns, dental implants, and dental prostheses.
How can a crown and bridge help my smile?
If you have missing teeth, the gaps left can cause other teeth to shift, and give you a bad bite. It may also make it more difficult to eat and to speak. Crown and bridge dentistry replaces your missing broken, miscolored or decayed teeth, which can restore health and beauty to your smile.
What are my payment options?
We accept cash, as well as American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We work with special-financing companies CareCredit and Lending Club. We’re not participants in Dental HMO or PPO networks, but we will file dental insurance claims on your behalf. We work closely with medical insurance carriers to provide treatment that is medically necessary for patients who suffer from trauma, cancer, or disease.
